This is a painting I did because of the frame. I found this frame in an antique store. It is a Guido frame made by Gido Framers of Boston. I am a frame junky and there is nothing like a good frame to inspire me to paint. I immediately saw an opportunity to show the wide-open vista of the West. I wanted to capture the landscape as well as the dominant bull elk.
