Greg Messier
Greg Messier can remember many happy memories of fishing and hunting with his father as a child. He credits these memorable childhood experiences for spawning his youthful artistic endeavors.
After studying commercial art at Dutchess Community College in Poughkeepsie, New York, he began to develop a successful freelance illustration career. During this time, he continued to paint watercolor landscapes, seascapes, and New England scenes selling his works through local galleries. Finally, he returned to his first childhood love, wildlife art, with an emphasis on waterfowl and western themes. Since then, Greg’s work has appeared in sporting magazines such as Outdoor Life and Field and Stream. He was commissioned to design a plaque given as an award from Outdoor Life to former President Ronald Reagan.
