I wanted to paint this leopard for some time, but I just couldn’t get a good picture in my mind. I knew I wanted the long dark shadows and that last bit of late afternoon light illuminating his face. Then I found this dark moody frame. I painted the black details on each corner, and it was a perfect match for what I wanted to create. This is another example of how a frame inspired my painting.
