Susan Knowles-Jordan
Since her childhood, Susan Knowles Jordan has grown up in the shadow of Maine's beautiful Acadia National Park. Her family has always had a deep appreciation of nature and the wonderful outdoors of Maine from its rocky coast to the interior forests and mountains. Jordan has the distinction of being the first woman to be selected to create the image for New Hampshire's Migratory Waterfowl Stamp. Her credentials include winning the 1994 Maine Duck Stamp competition.

Every year as I pass by the colorful blueberry fields turned reddish by the cool autumn air and lined with deep forest evergreen trees, I watch for the characteristic form of a lumbering black bear. I know they are abundant in our area, but being reclusive, we rarely see them.
