Most cardinals mate for life so it is always special to see a pair of them together. While they are by no means the only birds that do this, their relationship speaks to our imagination and the cardinal has earned a special place in my heart as well. I looked out my studio window and saw them sitting on an antique wrought iron courting bench in our garden. I wonder what they were talking about…?
