BADGER'S DEN
MEET THE ARTIST
Zac Kinkade
Zachary Thomas Kinkade, Thomas Kinkade’s nephew, was born in 1992 and has been passionate about art his entire life. Beginning when he was 11, Zachary began entering and winning national and regional art competitions and shows. Deciding that art was his calling, Zac submitted a portfolio to the Fort Worth Academy of Fine Art and was accepted to the school in preparation of formal university training the arts. During this time, Zac also attended Tarrant County College to study art and most significantly began apprenticing at the Thomas Kinkade Company to explore his own aesthetic vision. Zac continued these relationships while attending Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, where he eventually graduated with honors from that academy’s prestigious school of art and architecture.

THE PREMIER COLLECTION - LIMITED EDITION ART
There is a certain delight to rendering forest critters in their homes. For me, I think the fun may have been inspired by the classic children’s book The Wind in the Willows. In this frolicking tale, there is magic and excitement to be found in the daily lives of toads, moles, and badgers. In my painting Badger’s Den, I try and capture a bit of that wonderment in the peering eyes of this woodland creature. In the Kenneth Grahame story Badger lives deep in the wildwood and is a kind and compassionate character who is always willing to help his friends. And while my badger is unlikely to take a ride with toad, he still exudes curiosity and a willingness to be met in his doorway with his nose poking out. I hope you enjoy the visit with our new friend as much as I enjoyed taking you there, and, as always, thank you for sharing my adventure in art.
