I like this little painting for its bold color and for the memory that it brings. One of my favorite things about growing up in Africa would be the late afternoon thunderstorms. You could watch the sun setting on the thunderheads, lighting them up in golds and orange. You knew that by the time night fell the flashes of lightning and the boom of thunder would echoing in your bedroom. Thunderstorms are always thrilling to me!
