About the artist

I was mesmerized by the Lilac-breasted Roller when on safari in East Africa. I was so impressed by the colors of these birds that when I returned to my studio in the USA, the Lilac-breasted Roller was the painting I did (not a lion, elephant, zebra, etc.) from a month long safari. This is my unique process of a mixed media painting on handmade silk paper. I float the painting inside the frame to show off the torn edges of the paper.
